Great 80s Slasher Flick

I just finished watching this on Netflix after coming across it randomly and thinking, "If it stars both Raimi brothers, how bad can it be?" I was a child of the 80s who rented cheesy VHS horror flicks non-stop from my local video store. I am a horror buff and slasher-film-fan through and through. How this masterpiece ever escaped my attention is a mystery. This film has so many cool trick shots, so many creative murder scenes, so much brilliant foreshadowing (don't you love it when you're shown a sharp object in an innocuous context that you know will later serve as a grisly murder weapon?) Watching this was a joy. I know it's a cliche, but I wish today's slasher films had the same spirit as the old-school ones.
