High Tide ~ Good, but ....

I must admit: I troll movie websites like IMDb and the nominations of Oscars over the years, and came across this one.
It took me forever to find a torrent and download it, so I watched with anticipation.
I was impressed with Judy Davis {never heard of her before}, but I just couldn't warm up to the rest of the cast in any way.
I felt almost all of them shifted their character so much throughout the movie especially the 'gramma', that it was unbelievable.
And I did feel sorry for the young girl.
To me, her fate didn't get much better, even at the END of the movie, by leaving with her mother.
Ominous future for her, at best.
I am sure I would have rated it higher many years back when it came out, but it's a 4 out of 10 at best with me.
Sorry.
But Davis was superb.
