Yellow Dog

I'm not really an animal person, but Yellow Dog was awesome. So was that other dog, now that I think about it, the one that spent its entire life running around and barking ("Yo! Dog!"). But Yellow Dog was the best. The scene where Andy removes his tail from the fire was hilarious. I want a lazy, uncaring, skeleton-exhuming dog like Yellow Dog.

I have one. Only, he's a black Lab.

You can step on his tail while he's lying down and he only feels it if you put your whole weight on it.

He just lays in the hallway (in the way) and will only move if you keep nudging him and tell him to MOVE!

He eats the strangest things in the yard-like a log of firewood that the kids left there-he chews on it and carries it around like a toy.

He sleeps between my side of the bed and the wall and in the middle of the night will have a nightmare/dream and start tapping the wall with his paw and then look at me like "wtf" when I wake him up to stop.

One time I called him in the backdoor and since it was cold I only opened it enough for him to trot in--he's carrying his "log" in his mouth sideways which is too wide for the opening--runs into the doorjamb and door and falls back--and just lays there looking at me.

We have pocket (sliding) doors and he just stands in the doorway while you try to close them.

One of the few times we've seem him attack was when the DirecTv guy just walks in the gate like nothing (he was warned and my husband was right behind him-so disaster averted) and vaulted sideways over the fence when he sees this monster coming full-force at him.

Get a Lab, you'll love him!!

OMG I would have been in stitches. Your version of "Yellow Dog" seems awesome!

I have a dog like Yellow Dog, lol. He's a Pit Bull/American Bulldog/Mastiff mix, around 70 lbs, and very sweet. However, for a while now, I've been wondering how smart he is because he runs into walls head first, lifts up the sofa with his head beneath the wing of the arm when playing, etc. And like Yellow Dog, he just lies down for hours and you can't move him for anything! When we go to bed at night, he takes up one-quarter (but tries to take up half) of the bed, my other dog takes up the other quarter, and I get the remaining half. You can roll over on top of him, and he won't budge! And trying to make him move is a chore! You have to shove him off the bed to get it through his head that you want him to move.

I very nearly named him Yellow Dog even though He's white with hidden Dalmatian spots, and a dark brown spot over part of one ear, and a big dark brown spot on his butt. He rarely moves unless it's time to eat, go to the bathroom, or if he wants to play with his sister, lol.

We have a version of yellow dog. Ours is a 140 pound black lab. This is the laziest dog I have ever seen. He will lay in front of the sofa, so my husband uses him as a foot rest. He does like to be wherever we are so when I leave the room he will follow me. If I'm in the kitchen and walk into the dining room, he will get up, turn around, take maybe 2 steps and lay down. I trip over him almost every night and he never moves...just keeps snoring. Sometimes I check just to make sure he's still alive.
