Chew your leg off to get away from this one!

Andrew McCarthy runs the emotional gambit from A to B, and Molly Ringwald is as inscrutable as a sea urchin. A crummy movie about people who you just don't give a damn about. yuck. Any chance I can get my money back, 17 years later?

I've had a wonderful evening - but this wasn't it.

hahahahaha i totally agree. i lov molly, and they were so great together in "pretty in pink" God this movie sucked...

reply

Yep. Sucked.

I can't even remember the plot all these years later, but I seem to recall it going nowhere fast.

We were just talking about "bad movies" on my favorite bulletin board, and somehow this one came up.

reply

Oh my gosh,

tyrannical people let loose on the scene, hey. Back to the vaults for you three unicycle riding hippies.

This movies is alright, the phatanism of the whole thing, the belowy and ettitwaddle I loved.

Booyeh!

Haven't we met before? Weren't you the one who damned me to hell?

Agreed. This movie sucked ass. The actors just phoned it in. I gave it a 1/10.

I agree.. this is a crappy movie.

I don't what everyone is talking about. I just rented it from Netflix, I never knew about this movie, must have went under my radar. I think most people don't like it because your not used to seeing them play a different role, I though Molly Ringwald was exceptional in this movie. McCarthy wasn't bad either, I didn't like his aggressive behavior towards with hitting her and all.

I thought this was a good movie. If your a fan of any of these two, then I suggest you see it. A little heartbreaking at the end though. Surprised he didn't get the girl like in every other movie. I'd give it a 7/10.

WORST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!
I didn't get why he was crying at the end but I wanted to cry too because I will never get back the time I wasted on this, and I will never be able to erase the images from my mind!

I just had a discussion with my brother as I was driving him to work and somehow we got on the topic of "worst films we had ever paid to see on the big screen" and he said Fresh Horses. Looks like he wasn't alone in his sentiment.

This movie was a double feature with "High Spirits" in my town. I'm pretty sure we (all 4 of us-2 couples) walked out about halfway through this movie. "High Spirits" was the ONLY redeeming factor.

Ringwald went from a great teen actress to the worst young adult actress ever. No depth, no mystery, and as sensual as a plate of boiled mutton.

reply

maybe i missed it, but when did he hit her?

reply

he hits her in the scene from his bedroom. she was yelling and he jumped up and hit her (or something) and then she slapped him.

anyway, i made the mistake of reading reviews before actually watching the movie...and it wasn't THAT bad. i laughed out loud a few times at the scenes between andrew and ben...they were funny together. and andrew looks gorgeous in this movie. those huge 80's glasses he wore made him look adorable.

reply

He hit his desk lamp, not her. It even broke and you hear it falling to the floor in pieces.

I have not seen this movie since it was released in the theaters. What I do remember is this: the theater that my friends and I went to had 1.00 night during the week and I wanted my money back! Again, I have not seen this movie in 20 some years but I remember it was horrible and we all felt that way. And you are talking about the late 80's when one of the "best" movies was Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure!! I would sit through Bill and Ted 1 AND 2 a 100 times before I watched Fresh Horses again!
