Ennio Morriconne does some of his best work here, yet the soundtrack is so hard to find? Love that opening theme that starts with guitar strings and then gets all synthesized.

If I recollect correctly, music was very sparse in this film, thus a soundtrack would contain just a few minutes of music. The main theme is readily available on compilations though...

This is not actually true, there was a full and detailed soundtrack that seems to have been printed originally in extremely low numbers. I have a copy here and love it !

I never could find a CD, but I bought a cassette tape I found a few years ago.

This train will stop in Tucumcari.

you can buy this album from allofmp3.com.
it was the only way i could find it (without going after vinyls)
