Widescreen Edition???
Why is it I can't find a DVD for this movie with widescreen?
shareThe Region 2 UK DVD release from 1999 is 1.66:1 Widescreen as originally shot and listed on imdb. I have the DVD and just watched this enjoyable movie again. I cannot comment for any other Region format.
shareThis was shown on Channel 5 in the UK tonight, I started to watch it and decided to put the Region 1 DVD that I have had for 5 years+ I could not believe how poor the picture was, at times it is so poor it compares with a substandard VCD, and to top it all off it is the Pan and Scan version NOT Widescreen! This film seriously needs a new DVD releasing, it is one of the few forgotten gems that seems to have missed a remastered special edition. I would also love to see the original Director's Cut as well as all the usual extras, so COME ON WARNER WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???

Yeah! Where is a widescreen US region 1 version? Warner Brothers needs to release this great movie starring one of the biggest actors of all time and directed by one of the most unique directors of all time.
shareYou could wait forever. Just buy a region 2 disc and check out the web for cheat codes to reprogram your dvd player so it will play multiple regions' dvds. Nearly every dvd player is reprogrammable, and the process is much easier than you think. Failing that, buy a multi-region player. They're all over the internet, from 30 bucks on up.
Oh, and please stop qualifying the word "unique." A thing either is or is not unique. It can't be very, slightly, utterly, most, or least unique. Same with all absolutes.

thanks. usually I am abused for constructive criticism.
shareYou should be abused, because you can absolutely qualify the word "unique" with very, slightly, most, etc. I love it when people try to wield the sword of "I'm smarter than you" and fall flat on their face. It's great if you want to conceive your own grammar rules, but don't try to hold everyone else to your own petty hang-ups.
