the suitcase (Spoilers)
I always liked the scene where Harrison Ford opens that suitcase--the wrong suitcase that they got from the airline--it's the only thing left that might explain what happened to his wife-. Polanski just has the camera at close range, and all we see are Harrison Ford's hands going through seemingly innocent things any traveller coming from the US might have. But a clue appears. The audience sees it along with Ford. Just a low-key way of keeping the viewer involved. Odd how Polanski can create a mood without any camera theatrics.
