Does this movie affect your opinion
Does this movie make you hate France and French? Does it affect your opinion about France and the French?

Nope. Actually it had the opposite effect.
shareAfter W has screwed up our country, no way. In fact I wouldn't mind going over there "if I had the money."

Are you serious? You honestly think there's a correlation between high Jewish populations and bad governments? First of all, Jews account for a very small part of the United States. Second, how do explain 90% of the governments in the Middle East? No Jews, and yet they're some of the most abominable, theocratic, ridiculous governments on earth. How about most of Africa? How about most of the world, in fact?
The United States, France, Israel...these nations have some of the best governments imaginable when compared to Myanmar....Sudan....North Korea....even most DEVELOPED nations.
Seriously, the level of idiocy on these boards is getting almost impossible to stomach. The question here was simple: how did this movie affect your opinion of France. Positively? Negatively? Yet, somehow, the discussion instantly turns to conspiracy theories and and completely WARPED (and racist) world views. Congrats.
What is it about high jewish populations and bad governments? (USA, Israel, and increasingly France)
I saw "Taken" last week and I couldn't help but notice some similarities - the nightclubs, immigrants, incompetent French police, the fact that the hero has to do everything by himself etc.
If I were an American woman and easily impressed I'd stay away from France for a while, LOL
But that's a crass generalisation. I love France. The nightclubs are good, there are immigrants, but i'm sorry - why is that a problem? The French Police that i've met are not incompetant, and are actually pretty helpful.
If the hero didn't do everything by themselves it would be much of a movie would it! Picture this, the big hero sitting in a hotel room waiting for the police to call him with information.........WOW! SO EXCITING!
Pillock.
True.
shareI agree
shareyeah, I think the average working class Frenchman (say cops for instance) are not so different from people anywhere. Sure some Parisians (particularly wealthy ones) might be a bit snotty and overbearing at times, but I would think you might find that in just about any wealthy city, especially a European one. I would think you would find the French in Paris a damn side more welcoming than the Russians in Moscow, regardless of class or background.
shareNope. It's fiction.
