Frantic Blu-ray release 2/23/10 - in widescreen!

Finally, Frantic will be available in widescreen, and in hi-def to boot!

Unfortunately it's a double feature and will be coupled with Presumed Innocent. While Presumed Innocent is a decent enough movie, I'd rather pay $12 for Frantic alone than $18 for the both of them. Hopefully there has been some restoration work done.

That is all.

wow.you just made my day!! i actualy prefer presumed innocent, its one of my favorite harrison non-action movies. the fact the harrison is such a well known good guy makes the first viewing even better because all the way through the movie youre never sure if he really did or didnt commit the crime. hopefully it will be region free :)

Presumed Innocent is OK. It's a good movie, but it doesn't have as much replay value once you know the twist. Frantic is freaking fantastic though.

I just saw the double-pack on Blu-ray the other day in "x" store for about US$20. Considering that you get two movies (one good --'Frantic'--, plus a decent one --'Pressumed Innocent'), it's a good deal. Anyway I'll wait until the price drops a bit more.
No extras, though. But Polanski's movie alone is worth the price.

Can't wait to see Frantic on my Blu-Ray!

I agree...
I would much rather have Franitic on its own...
Presumed Innocent was just another one of Ford's movies that you can't tell from another...

For people who own or seen the Blu-ray:

How is the quality of the film? Is it as grainy as the DVD release?

It does not appear to have been released on Blu-Ray in the UK.

Very grainy in some spots. Prominent strobing in some scenes. Definitely not restored, but I wouldn't say that's a bad thing --- it looks like what you'd see in a restoration art-house in NYC, like a slightly frazzled 35mm print. Especially for a movie like this, it's preferable to one of those restorations where they denoise all the grain and make it look like something Final Cut Pro spit out a few months ago, instead of what it is and always looked like --- something printed to noisy film-stock 20 years ago.
