the most funniest scene in the movie [spoiler]

when ford character is mad at the michele house, and say " Don't mess with me, man! I am an American, and I am crazy! "

lmao after what happened to him.. what an cocky *beep* lol

I love how that sort of played with Ford's established movie persona - ie as an American tough guy.

Reason is a pursuit, not a conclusion.

Wasn't one of the two guys at the apartment American also, like a CIA agent and I guess the other guy works for French intelligence? They portrayed the CIA as so inept especially the guy who would blow his cover by yelling at a stewardess for spilling his coffee.

Ford honestly didn't seem that tough in this movie and the last fight wasn't that good of hand to hand combat, I think Ford is better in thrillers like this one. Its similar in Firewall where he mostly acts helpless running around till the final confrontation with the bad guys.

I still can't believe he destroyed such an important device at the end which can trigger a major terrorist bomb.

That's what I meant - since in this movie he wasn't at all playing a tough guy, the idea that his character suddenly play-acts as one is persona-referencing, a Hitchcockian touch in a Hitchcockian movie.

I realize these are old posts I'm responding to but I watch the movie about once a year.

Richard and Michelle dancing, or at least Richard trying to follow Michelle's modern dance choreography.
A beautiful scene! One single take of two incredibly performances set to a wonderful soundtrack.

reply

Yeah. That kick in the face always gives me a good belly laugh. And i've seen this movie a thousand times, as it is one of my favorite Ford movies. :)
