Why doesn't Vern pummel the *beep* out of Ernest for trashing his house?
I know Vern probably knows Ernest is a clutz and cuts him some slack, but I mean COME ON!!

because then they'd have to cast somebody as Vern. The audience is supposed to be Vern.

I was just watching this movie and thought, maybe Vern is in a wheelchair, maybe he is mute... it would make a lot of sense... not that it needs to.
