NBC - Alternate Scenes?

Does anyone still have a copy of the movie from its airings on NBC in '90/'91? I swear that there were some alternate scenes in those broadcasts, but unfortunately, my tape of it's long gone. Chastity's speech about "passing out condoms to kindergarteners," for example, was something completely different. And I think that the marquee said "How to Make Dove Calls," so Elvira's slip on the ladder, holding the "E" differently, made it look like it said, "How to Make Love." Have I created this in my mind? I've seen it on TV since and it's always a cut down version of the theatrical release. Any input would be appreciated!

I take it that you didn't tape it from NBC then. They cut out the scene with the "boob dance," as you so eloquently put it -- but that scene's often been shown on TV since. And the scene with the marquee says, "How to Make Duck Calls," in the regular version, so you're accurate there -- but generally on TV, they cut to Chastity's expression and then Elvira falling off the ladder, never actually showing the "FUC K."

Man, could I go for that "boob dance" right now. I always feel like I should tip after that scene-it's like a home lap dance. With those facial expressions, you can tell she worked Vegas and was a pro!

Hey Desmond. I do have a copy of the 90-91 airing. However I havent watched it since I was little and since I bought the tape then to the DVD. I know for a fact when she falls off the latter it skips the whole F U C K part and you just see Chastity gasp. Another thing is that she doesnt say, "Is this face taken?" Another part that was cut out was where her boobs smash up against the window of her car when she wipes it off at the gas station. About the condoms to kindergarderns...She did say something else but I just cant think of what it was. I dont know what some of these people are talking about, but in my version she does do the "boob dance." She was the first ever to do it on network television. Hope it sort of helps?

I taped the very first NBC tv broadcast - unfortunately, the tape length ran short, and I ended up cutting most of Vincent's chasing of Elvira in order to fit most of the movie on. And I recently viewed it, by coincidence. Anyway, the boob dance was actually shown - however, perhaps thinking it would pacify middle America or something, the music was completely changed from the rock synthisizer soundtrack to a patriotic military theme! I'm not kidding. I thought it was odd, and it didn't really add anything, but what are you gonna do.... (I only ever noticed the boob dance getting completely cut out during broadcasts on Comedy Central in Tennessee).

As far as the movie marquee incident, it does lead up to it, but the whole segment gets drastically re-cut, and Chastity faints at Elvira's audicity in kissing Bob, rather than anything she thinks Elvira is putting up on the marquee.

There weren't really any true alternate scenes, to speak of, just several overdubs, replacing possibly offensive material with something more generic. For example, instead of remarking that she needs the job like a "leper needs a 3-way mirror," she says like "Roseanne Barr needs a 3-way mirror," etc. But there was one small surprise. The scene with the preacher unexpectedly handling her breasts in the jail cell is actually extended! It's just be a few seconds, but it is noticeable, and I was pretty surprised, considering the other changes made.

"Well now, that's too bad! You must come from a dreadful family...."
