Just watched on big screen (70mm) London, first time in many years

Probably about twenty years since I have watched Die Hard. I was never a Big fan of the movie, to me I remembered it as pretty standard action stuff, but definitely has seemed to become seen as a bit of a classic of its type these days.

Anyhow the always excellent Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square has been showing it quite regularly the last few years often as part of its Xmas Movies showings, so I felt it was time to give it a go.

Have to say I did really enjoy it more than I thught I would, I think having an almost full and sometimes loud audience really helps in such a movie (same with comedies), the crowd reaction is a big plus point in the enjoyment. I do like it when you get cheering and boing during the movie (not too much but noticeable) and clapping at the end, etc

How did it look on the big screen, I may have to check the Prince Charles this weekend then.

Yeah, it was really good. It's not a huge mega screen, but it's a 70mm presentation on a decent big screen with a good print so you do get the wide screen feel, more so than watching on a TV, etc.

I enjoy watching classics at this cinema (Godfather 2 recently), and normally have a great crowd. You do get the feeling of what it would have been like watching it in a cinema back on its first release.

I see there is a showing tonight (Friday) and Sunday too.

One thing I personally found the volume was a bit noisy when things started blowing up, so I actually popped in my earphones, but I think that's just me.
