So Eddie was king of the world and was recognized everywhere by everyone at the time he "wrote" and made this picture. What an ego on him. It's the success of this that sank his career because he felt that now he could do no wrong. This movie was okay but forgettable, and then his ego went straight to "Harlem Nights" and buried him.

This was the beginning of Murphy's downfall. Everyone was tripping over each other to suck his dick during this movie, that they forgot to make it funny.

I am not a big fan of Eddie, but this is one of my favourite movies for its upbeat mood, good pacing, amusing plot and great timing. Also lots of talent in it.
He was always poor at picking movie projects. Must be one of the A stars who have made the largest amount of turds. When you look at his list of movies, he didnt really make that many good ones outside the Beverley Hills Cop franchise. Compare to vanDamme, who never was good at all, but kept doing ok films for two decades, at least within his genre.
