Well done scary movie.
Not a lover of frightening movies, I watched this to see an early Sam Rockwell performance. I found it quite scary, with the music and lighting being used with good effect to heighten the frightening moments.
shareIt has some decent touches – particularly the fortune teller, which was extremely creepy – and it's a treat to see Sam Rockwell in an early role. On the other hand, it has a lot of cliches: the "scare" that's really a prank, the victim being chased and stopping to look back at the pursuer, the escaped mental patient on a rampage. Just once I'd like to see escaped mental patients try to assimilate into mainstream society, but I guess there's no horror in that – or is there?
