Is the DVD still available somewhere? I haven't seen this since I was a kid and really want to see it again. It was one of few movies that really scared me back then.

I just got a copy a few days ago... finally able to show it to people that have never seen it. I first rented it as a kid years ago.
It's a shame about the backstory and out-of-place sexual comments. And how many times is kid's peeing themselves referenced. I lost count!

Does the new DVD have a commentary by Victor Salva? I'd love to hear his explanation of why teenage boys are walking around in their underwear for the first 10 minutes of the movie and taking baths together.
