This film is as close to being banned without being banned as a film can get. It will never get a blu ray release.

This is the reason that I love VHS. There are movies on VHS, that will never be released on DVD properly, much less on blu-ray.

When movies are/were originally released, studios would release the full version, from the theatre. Now, with dvd, we get all these different cuts from the original, merely so they can add extra features, or release a "special edition" later on.

But that wasn't an issue with Clownhouse, so it's a non-issue.

It was released on DVD, I don't see why it shouldn't be released on Blu ray...

That's because you do not understand the circumstances surrounding its distribution (or more appropriately, the lack thereof.)

If it's barred from further distribution on the home video market (i.e. DVD), what makes you think that blu-ray will be an exception?
