I've only just watched Child's Play and am yet to watch any of the sequels. One thing I took away from the film is that while the two cops knew about Chuckie noone was going to believe them. It would've looked to anyone else like Andy stabbed the psychiatrist in the leg then stuck the electro treatment gear on his head and fried him.
I know Andy is in the sequel. Is this touched on at all or.swept under the rug?
It was originally written as though Andy COULD be the killer but the idea was scrapped. I don't think the final product really holds much weight in that category. It's pointed directly at Chucky. HOWEVER, Andy is sent to a foster home in Pt. 2 and a Military School in Pt. 3
shareThe thing I've always loved about the first childs play movie was the way they make it a who-done-it type of movie. I know we all knew it was Chucky doing the murders because we see him transfer himself into the doll at the beginning of the movie but he makes you wonder if some how Andy is assisting him with the murders. Child's Play 1 will always be the best! A very well made horror movie that terrified me as a kid and its still a very scary movie to watch even as an adult now.
shareIt also did a good job of putting Andy on his own against Chucky. Everyone else assumed that he was the one responsible, so he was constantly getting stuck in situations where he was locked up and vulnerable to Chucky arriving. He didnt have any choice but to fight this thing on his own.
