That scene where Karen's alone with Chucky

Even though the franchise has gone off the rails in terms of goofiness and a lot of exposure, making Chucky a lot less scary but that scene where she discovers he's alive is still really scary and well done. You know he's going to come alive, but it's a question of WHEN in that scene. The batteries falling out and the "I'm Chucky WANNA PLAY?" recording make for some excellent shocks.

They don't call me Col. Homer cause I'm some dumbass army guy!

I know what you mean, love the suspense of the scene. All throughout the scene they show Chucky in the background and I kept thinking that he would disappear. I was expecting Chucky to disappear when the batteries fell out and she would look back a him only to see he is not sitting on the sofa.

The other scene that gets me is when Det. Norris gets attacked by Chucky in his car after being skeptical. My friend started singing "I'm a Believer" after Chucky runs away. I used to live not too far from where that scene was filmed, so it doubly creeps me out!

Annoying the world since 1960!

That scene has deservedly gone down in the horror history books, I think. It plays on two kinds of fears: that, as adults, our children are attuned to something we can't see, and the natural terror of something inanimate coming to life.

I just watched the film for the first time in years this evening, and I still jumped when Chucky twisted his head around at her. Fantastic scene, and wonderfully acted as well.

The part where his head twisted around to face her and he suddenly said "I'm Chucky, wanna play?" made me jump out of my skin lol. That was a great scene.

Yea the revelation scene is the best in the series. I saw this movie way back at the cinema and remember most of the audience tensing up right before the big reveal.
