Might Get Some Hate For This

I wouldn't be entirely opposed to a remake or a reboot of Child's Play. I love all the Child's Play/Chucky movies, and I am excited for the upcoming sequel, but I can't help but feel this series would benefit from wiping the slate clean. Just my opinion though.

I actually think that's a good idea.

reply

Very good idea. A clean remake of the original would be great.

reply

I'm not opposed either, a remake or reboot would probably be good. Especially if they gear it to today's generation.

reply

Gearing it to today's generation would be cool. Like, they could make the kid be a girl and Chucky has to grapple with the idea of possessing a girl's body, sort of like what they did with Seed of Chucky. The whole transgender thing is in the news a lot these days.

reply

That would be interesting, I never thought of that. Chucky having to do that would put a twist in things.

reply

hell no that sounds too much like that bruce jenner nonsense

i've got feelings too, ya know - inbetweeners

We have enough franchises with women as the lead protagonist (Halloween, Elm Street, Scream). Let's keep Andy Barclay as the lead protagonist in the Child's Play series.

So, maybe let's make Chucky black

I would be interested in seeing a new concept of it. But I want scary not funny. I only like the first 3 Child's Play.

Sure why not?

Just watched the first two in the series for the first time and I actually liked them a lot better than I expected. Ive seen Seed of Chucky in the past a couple times, but I never really liked the comedy element in it and I enjoyed the feel of those first two much more. If they were more along those lines for a reboot/remake, I would enjoy that.

good luck on that, you would have to have a good cast in right roles,
a good doll, good cgi, and I guess you have the good story, which could be
changed a little.
Good director, and all for under 12 mil budget.
last film only made 12 mil .
if they spend too much it will lose money.
