when Chucky is trying to kill him in the car why did he think that hitting the gas, making the car go faster would cause less danger for himself and others?

When he throws Chucky off of Barkley's mom he stupidly assumed he took him out. He deserved the slice to the leg. I hoe it hurt like hell.

When Chucky beats the crap out him with the baseball bat he deserve that too because he had every opportunity to foresee him charging him but he just obviously pretends to be dumb. Figures...

Yeah, and don't forget the biggest whopper of them all.

Chucky invokes a demonic curse which causes magic clouds to fill the sky (which the cop definitely sees through the skylight, since there is a close-up of him looking at them through it), and magic lightning bolts embedded with Sith-style Force Push technology and also with mystical explosion-making technology that makes stuff blow up even when they the bolts don't hit any naturally explodable objects.

The cop directly sees, hears, feels, and experiences all of this.

Yet, he still spends 80% of the movie having no clue what is going on and disbelieving the Chucky is alive theory.

IMO not only is the cop stupid, but the film itself is stupid too for making the cop a disbeliever after he was there for all of the outlandish stuff that happened when Chucky's human body died.

I agree. He acted stupidly throughout the film, like he had no training whatsoever.
