Is this a lost classic?

This is a fantastic movie, albeit a product of its time. I never see it on Tv or here anyone talk about it though. Field of Dreams and Major League still seem to pop up now and then, but not this.

I think it is, to a certain degree. It seems like it will sometimes pop up around the start of baseball season...but lately, it hasn't been on TV as much as the other two movies that you mentioned (and while I like those two movies a lot--especially ""Major League"--I like "Bull Durham" the best).

Major League holds up surprisingly well. Kind of a cool snapshot of the time too.

Shit, I probably used that line a thousand times in the years following this movie.
