In the scene where Costner and Robbins are over at Sarandons house for the 1st time, one of Costners beliefs is that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone.

How can that be?

Well that is what he believed. And whether or not Lee Harvey Oswald killed John F Kenndy, and whether or not he did it alone, we will never know it for sure. Because Jack Ruby went and killed him on live TV, and that is not a smarter murder, that is if he also wanted to it to be a mystery.
