Duane from Basket Case Cameo...

Anyone else notce this obvious and blatant cameo?
The man on the train with the basket (same actor and basket that contains belial).

I thought this was a fun cameo since the same writer and director is on these projects.

It's also cool because these two men are both holding a deep secret. Brian's holding it in his mouth at the moment, Duane's holding it in the basket.

See you in the funny papers.

The cameo is pretty cool. I haven't seen Basket Case in a while though. The scene must have been what inspired the director to finally make some sequels.

Neat. It took me a while to realise what all the focus on the basket was about.

I haven't seen basket case since I was a kid and didn't know it was the same director, but I knew what the basket was about the minute I saw it. I thought the guy holding the basket looked a bit different than the kid in basket case, but I guess it was the same guy.

Yes it is very well known Kevin Van Hentenryck reprises his role of Duane Bradley for a cameo 2 Years before "Basket Case 2". Also Beverly Bonner has a cameo, She was also from "Basket Case"...and it's directed by Frank Henenlotter the man who directed "Basket Case" .

PS HENEBLOTTER RULES!!!! I CANT WAIT FOR "BAD BIOLOGY"

"Climb inside a dog, and behead an Eskimo Now you've heard it once, your brain will spring a leak"

who is Heneblotter?

reply

Yeah Duane's neighbor lady from the hotel (he gets drunk with) is in this. She is one of Brian's neighbors. The old couple breaks into her apartment to check the tub.

I thought it was funny that Duane looked at the guy and eventually got up and left, like "Damn, this dude is even to weird for me to be around!"

reply

I suspect Kevin had gotten his long hair cut by 1988, that is a splendidly obvious wig he is wearing for the cameo!

Best part of the movie for me : )

"Great, just jump all over me, why don't you?
What about the nine kids I DIDN'T lose this week?"

reply

I liked that part, but I think the best part is when Aylmar is singing that hilarious song in the bathroom :) What makes a lady of eighty go out on the loose, why does a gander meander in search of a goose...

It's not you, I just don't like having dinner with people

I got a real kick out of that. Hilarious!

While watching the movie I was thinking "Wouldn't it be cool if Brian went to Hotel Broslin and found Duane with the basket?"

And then in the subway, there he is! I was like "I knew it!"

"Internet? Internot."

Me and a friend are big Basket Case fans. But watched Brain Damage for the first time today, knowing it was by the same director.

The exact same thing you explained, happened to me.

When Brian was in the hotel, trying to get over Aylmer I said to my friend; "He should go to the room next door, and ask if he can borrow a basket to put him in." This lead to several jokes about how cool a cameo appearance / crossover film would be.

THEN IT HAPPENED!

Duane was sat there on the train, holding a basket.

My friend says: "Did you know that was going to happen?"
I was like; "No, I swear."

Good times!

Did Aylmer ever cameo in the BASKET CASE sequels? I wonder why Frank Henenlotter never did an official crossover where Aylmer fights Belial.

I don't believe Aylmer appeared in any of the Basket Case sequels but I do love this idea of a crossover movie.
