I miss 80's gore and horror SPFX. I saw this and American Werewolf in London for the first time in a long time today, and it reminded me what an art form this stuff was back then.

It's just like rock'n'roll. Now that they've started creating it with computers, the soul of the art form has very nearly died.

shareWell, there's certainly a slime creature, but it doesn't exactly melt a guy's face off. It does however grab a guy by the face and pull him down a sink drain.
There IS a scene in The Fly 2 where the fly spits acid on a guy's face and it melts off (a pretty great effect actually).
