Or if not the greatest ever, one of the very best.

reply

Top notch performance in this movie without a doubt.

reply

Agree! The short crop hair brought focus to his nice face and stunning cheekbones. He particularly looked his best with his su glasses on.

Imo he looked best in The Dogs of War, At Close Range, Biloxi Blues, and Batman Returns.

He is the greatest of them all!
Walken Rules!
He is an acting god!

This has to be one of Walken's best performances. I was surprised that he didn't receive an Oscar nomination for this.

I just saw this movie for the first time and didn't realize it was a Neil Simon play made into a movie.I'm old enough to remember seeing The Odd Couple at the movies and of course The Good-Bye Girl.I agree whole heartedly that Walken is a genius when it's comes to playing the quirky odd guy.Give him the words of Simon and he's an oscar contender.Oh ,we've found out the Oscar is just another way to sell a movie. That was 1988.Mike Nichol's directing , you can't go wrong. This was pure ensemble acting at it's best.We can't forget Mathew Broderick growing up pretty fast as Eugene!!Takes humor, sometimes to see the truth about life.

Anyone remember Walken in "Deerhunter" or "King of New York" or "Pulp Fiction"? This guy is phenomenal.

reply

yes he is i agree

Every Neil Simon character is "quirky and odd" to me. That's why he's a freakin' genius. I didn't really think Sgt. Toomey as that kind of character though.

I spent my entire childhood growing up. What a waste.
