Bette Slugs that Guy

Apparently thinking she is the other sister, some spindly weakling of a guy comes on to the "wrong" Bette. Her response is a slug to the jaw which knocks him out. She narrows her eyes with triumphal contempt as steps over his unconscious body.

What a scene!

I agree and the way she makes sure her tiara is in place before moving away is classic!!

I'll trade with anyone who has a jaccuzzi!!!!

Heh, somebody should put that clip online.

Found it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISMRX8-7L0Q

Who says violence is not the answer?

You guys are too harsh! Joe Grifasi is hardly "Spindly" and under the circumstances I think his character was caught off guard for one, and secondly in this movie I find his depiction of the Desk Clerk very very cute and sincere. He had champagne and flowers at the door when Rose opened it! He was a poor cautious guy who thought she was into him, and he made his move. Bravo! I'd take him over the Euro-Trash any day!

It is hilarious. Then she goes upstairs to spend the night with the Italian hunk who does hostile takovers! This is one of the funniest films ever made.

reply

Yeah, but the guy is also pretty funny by saying "I am actually allergic to Angora but for you I am making an exception!"

Love that scene...

Not meaning to sound petty or snotty here, but the line is actually, 'Hey babe. You know, I used to be allergic to Angora, but I'm ok now.' then he strokes by her boob and she punches him. Hilarious and brilliant.

That scene had me laughing for nearly and hour! I love how she straightens her tiara afterwards!

"Don't be so humble - you're not that great."

The way her tiara sparkles is hilarious!
