why is it rated soo low?
this film is hilarious!

bette midler is a comic legend!!!!!!!

i love how shes being all flirty with the italiano at the restarant, and when the waiter comes, shes a real biatch and says in a stione cold voice "capari and soda", then goes back to being all flirty!!

brilliant!!!
also whenrose is muttering and jabering on about her partner at the start, and the biacth bette midler stands uop and says "WHATS HAPPENED!!!!!"""

I watched this many times growing up. It's a Bette classic.

It's an unpretentious, fun comedy that completely works. I suspect the main reason it's not particularly celebrated is that both lead actresses were clearly well into middle-age and a lot of potential younger viewers ignored it.

It's so different than when I was a kid. I watched classic movies all the time. Appreciated all the Hollywood eras before me. Now it's only things like Bette White being a Meme.

HAHAHAHAHA I read all of that in Sadie's voice! She is so funny in this movie. Even her facial movements!

It sure is. I haven't seen this since I was a teenager and I'm in my 40s. It's very funny. Lily & Bette are great.
