This movie is the worst kind of pyschological projection

I do not deny that racism exists on the Right side of the political spectrum, but I assert that it exists on the Left as well. In fact, for every well-known "right-wing" racist attack, there are multiple instances of "left-wing" racist attacks. For those who have been under-educated or mis-educated, I present a few historical facts that might have been omitted by a left-leaning public education system:

1. The sin of slavery was perpetrated by whites and blacks upon blacks. The main motive for blacks was tribal enmity. The main motive for whites was money. This is hardly only a "right wing" motive.

2. Entrenched racism has historically been more closely tied to the Democrat Party (left-wing) rather than the Republican Party (right-wing). Stating the obvious, the largest group of abolitionists before and during the Civil War were Republicans (Hello Lincoln!) and Christians. The slave side was championed by the Democrat Party. Even during the Jim Crow years, it was southern Democrats and union workers who made up the biggest proportion of KKK members. It is a little known fact that while Democrats held a majority in Congress during the vote on the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Republicans voted for it with a far greater percentage than did Democrats. Democrat Robert Byrd, anyone?

3. Throughout modern history, almost every instance of genocidal racism has come from the Left side of the political spectrum: the National Socialists of Germany, and the Stalinists of the U.S.S.R. Even today, there is a growing anti-Semitic movement among the radical Left which, in the West, has chosen to side with the Palestinians - and more broadly, Islam - against the Jewish state of Israel.

4. Compare the political posts on Leftist sites like dailykos and moveon versus Rightist sites like redstate or biggovernment. There are far more racist rants on the Left due to the percieved influence of crooked "jewish bankers" within the market. Leftists consistently say, "jewish bankers" rather than just "bankers."

5. Even today, it is the Left which specializes in identity politics. Where Martin Luther King wished for citizens to emphasize "content of character", the Left foisted Barack Obama upon us as a chance to vote for a black man for President - never mind the fact that he was completely inexperienced and perhaps not blessed with the type of executive skill needed to do the job. Is it racist to vote for someone BECAUSE OF the color of his/her skin?

I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea.

I'm a conservative Republican, and I liked the film. However, it has become dated. I think the tolerance industry often hypes the dangers from these groups, many of whom are constantly under surveillance by the authorities and are riddled with informants and undercover operatives. Every time, a so-called hate crime occurs, it's used a proof that bigotry is alive and well and about to erupt.

Too many people equate moral goodness and intelligence with political views. So someone who disagrees with you is not just wrong or has a different opinion, but is evil, stupid, or mentally ill.

I like to see films where the villains are liberal, but I won't hold my breath.

What conservatives should do is make films outside the Hollywood system. They should expect few favorable reviews from the critics (many of whom are liberal) or award nominations.

If you read the comments for "The Life Zone," a pro-life film starring Robert Loggia and Charles Durning, some posters were outraged that it was even made despite that the fact few people saw it.

You made many great points.

Here's a transcript from Sunday 10/2/2011 based on audio credited to Jill Vitale of WABC radio as heard on Mark Levin's podcast of Oct. 3rd:

"The Jews control the Federal Reserve banks. Half the billionaires in this country are Jewish. Jews only represent two percent of the population. The American people are being ripped off for trillions of dollars. A lot of this stolen money on Wall Street ends up in Israel...."

Not discounting all of your arguments but you too simply creating an equivalence of Democrat = Left and Republican = Right. This modern interpretation has not always been the case and it is not that easy to say one is "right-wing" and the other left.

During abolition & jim crow Southern Democrat no way meant "liberal" - It was the party for conserving the "old ways"

In fact the roles are almost completely reversed now. in 1860 the republicans were about centralizing control in the federal government (In the republic - hence the name). The Democrats were about "states rights"

For most people today -- especialy "conservatives" -- would consider those roles reversed.

THere is a great difference in the ideology of Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan (Both of whom I admire)

You're absolutely spot on! The Republican and Democratic parties have reversed roles and in no way shape and form represent the same ideologies today! The Republican party sold out and embraced the old southern prejudices and philosophies to gain votes and win elections, i.e. G.O.P.’s Southern strategy to capitalize on racial animus and win white voters. Just go back and check your history; at one time the South was hugely democratic and the North Republican.

I'd have voted to reelect Obama in 2012 - after voting for McCain in 2008.

Your points 3 and 4 have aged extremely well, unfotunately...
