Barbara and Adam become alive at the end?

No. They're still dead but Charles and Delia can see them now.

No reason is really given. Although, if you notice after the dinner possession, they hide by hanging out of the window. Also, in her first scene, Juno scolds them for trying to scare Delia by ripping their faces off and in her second scene she's encouraging them to do the monster faces which could only work if Charles, Delia, and Otho can now see them. I've always assumed that means they were now visible because the possession confirms their existence to the rest of the family.

In the end the Maitlands decide to let the Deetz family live with them because they're so fond of Lydia.

I thought that the fact that they possess Lydia at the end and make her float in the air while doing the Shake Senora was a pretty good sign that they were dead if the fact that they were dead wasnt enough
