Watching as an adult, & I think they should have survived that accident
It just didn't seem fatal.
shareIt just didn't seem fatal.
shareI agree. It wasn't that deep and all they had to do was roll their windows down. However I can suspend disbelief for the sake of entertainment.
shareI'm watching now and both their windows were down. It doesn't seem like they should've died. Maybe if the bridge were higher and the water deeper. Still love this movie though.
shareI didn't see if they were wearing seatbelts, but if they didn't they'd take a big knock to the head hitting that water - which looked pretty deep, the car still sinking at scene cut.
shareNo everyone and squeeze through a car window, and you can't open the doors while it's underwater, and one might have tried to help they other (if they were struggling) and died in doing so. People panic.
As an adult you should know all these possibilities.
Exactly. Barbara especially looks pretty stunned right after the crash.
Plus, falling head down, possibly hitting your head on the roof, trapped into your seatbelt with the water pouring in from the window--at what speed too?-- I don't know if yoi have enough time to react before it's too late... The head down factor is especially important IMO. Your head might be trapped underwater for a while before you manage to unbuckle. And if you're like me, you might be unable to hold your breath underwater without plugging your nose.
So yeah, no, I don't know about everyone else, but I'm pretty sure I would have died XD
You don't know much then
As a car fills with water you can't just open the door and swim out. You'd need to wait for the car to be completely full to have a chance of escape.
They could have gotten out of the window long before the car filled and attempting to open the door. And yes everybody, I see how people could die in their scenario, but I also see how people could have easily survived it as well.
sharewatched this last night and for the first time thought the same thing. the window was open and they were still above water in the shot.
