I actually had quite a bit of school pride, senior class president, prom king and freshman and sophmore football team.

To say you went to the same school as someone, does not mean you are in any way using their status or fame to get any benefits. It is purely an opening to engage in a friendly conversation, something I feel you may have missed out on over the years.
You went to the same school as Bette Midler, that must make you very warm at night....I am tremendously happy for you and hope that fills any and all voids in your life, assuming you have one, which I beleive you have proven not to.

Congratulations on your Graduation. I miss being in Hawaii. I think it is interesting that Bette grew up there and now she is such a New Yorker.
