shareConsidering it was right after the scene with Victoria commented about how her and Hilary have the same hands, I think Hilary was just trying to see if she and her own mother had the same hands since she couldn't remember much about her mother.
Your logic does not resemble our Earth-logic.
I thought Hillary was looking for more evidence, sadly, that her daughter could inherit her condition through genetics. Perhaps if they had the same hands, other things could be inherited, also.
