WHat does Hilary die of?
I haven't seen this movie 14 years ago. But what does Hilary die of? Lupus?

shareI remember in one scene that Hilary discovers that she has a heart defect after she collapses at the courthouse and she comes to realize that it's fatal when she does research on it...
Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.
A virus attacked her heart, and she needed a heart transplant, but because she has a rare blood type, there is no chance of a transplant. *sob, sob*
It's called cardiomyopathy. Basically a deterioration of the heart muscle. Hers was caused by a virus. There's other causes as well such as alcohol abuse or even genetics.
shareThat's how I lost my Maine Coon. She was born with it. :(

So then, in her case, it's gentics? Because her mother died of the same thing, which means that Victoria is in danger of getting it as well. Yes, I know it's just a movie, but my point is, Hillary's mother died of it, likely her grandmother as well, she got it, and so it stands to reason that Victoria will eventually suffer from it as well.
shareNo, hers wasn't genetic. They specifically said Viral Cardiomyopathy.
Her was caused by a virus that attacked her heart muscle. Very rare.
Cardiomyopathy
shareViral Cardiomyopathy, to be specific.
shareJust out of curiosity how does one catch viral cardiomyopathy?
shareUsually from a virus called Coxsackie B virus.
Thanks. I was always curious.
The end of the shoelace is called the...
In the book she died of ovarian cancer (not sure about this, as I haven't read the book). If that's the case, I wonder why they changed it in the movie.
Don't let anyone ever make you feel like you don't deserve what you want.
Aglet!
share@shadaif - How does one catch viral cardiomyopathy?
A: By being in a movie.
I'm more of the belief that she died from Roger Ebert coined "Ali MacGraw's Disease" in which "the only symptom is that the patient grows more beautiful until finally dying."
It can also happen if someone has Mitrovalve Prolapse. This is where the valve the opens & shuts to let out the 'old' blood (which has bacteria) in the heart is weakened, so some of the 'old' blood leaks back into the heart.
Many people have a very mild case of prolapse (I have a trace amount) & never even know it.
Usually it has to be severe, though, to run the risk of danger.
I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.
She didn't die, she just lost the election.
Oh you were talking about Beaches' Hilary?
