Where in Buenos Aires was this film shot?
Does anyone know the specific locations...neighborhoods,etc, where the film was shot in Buenos Aires?
shareIt looked to me like Recoleta. That's the posh district just north of the city centre, best known for the cemetery where Eva Peron is buried, and also where the remnants of the British expat population live. I visited a few people in Recoleta last time I was in BA and the apartments are quite like Adrian's. I think the film also mentions San Telmo; that's an old area about 20 minutes' walk east of downtown, very shabby in recent years, but interesting for its cafes, tango bars and Sunday market. BA is such a fantastic city for walking around. The coffee is good, the architecture is awesome and the men are the best looking in the world. Even someone as stunning as Jack would slip unnoticed through the crowd quite easily!
shareI agree, I was recently in BA and was trying to figure out which neghborhood it was filmed in. I came to the conclusion it was San Telmo (it didn't look like Recoleta to me). I loved the seediness of the area. I sat in a cafe in San Telmo and was staring at the the old, old architure and I just knew it had to be the setting for AZ. I tried to imagine the director and the actors as they came to know the neighborhood. I would love to talk to Martin Donovan and Colin Firth about their experience on the film (I guess there is no "making of" for AZ). And yes, the men in Argentina are THE most gorgeous on earth.
