The Tenant

I just rented this DVD and I have to say I liked it very much. It was unusual to say the least, very well directed and written, but the acting makes the film.

Afterwards, I had a thought - this movie somewhat reminds me of the 1976 Roman Polanski movie called "The Tenant" ("Le Locataire", in French). If you liked this movie, you just may like "The Tenant" as well. "The Tenant" is not about serial killers; it’s about a man searching for a cheap apartment in Paris and finds a steal, because the last tenant committed suicide.

I just read a great comment posted here "The Tenant's Tenant" that deals exactly with this fact. It made me want to see "The Tenant" again. And yes, there is something in common with a huge difference. In "The Tenant" I was scared as an spectator in "Apartment Zero" I felt I was part of it. I felt a character in it.

Yes! All through this movie I was reminded of The Tenant! Both are very good movies, I can't decide which I like more.

They go in Hollister as cute little kids and come out THE STEPFORD TEENS

They share a similar atmosphere. Terrifying at times but they belong to different universes.

Great companion piece.

Yes, It did remind me of "The Tenant" and another movie.. that shares some similarities is "Shallow Grave".

Adrian's paranoia and fear of his odd neighbors (particulary the two gossipy old women) was very reminiscent of "The Tenant".
