Alternate Ending?

Does this film have an alternative ending?

A friend recommended this movie and I just saw theatrical version of the film.
But the ending I saw is different than what my friend rememberred.

Anyone can clarify our confusion?

I haven't heard of another ending; listened to director's commentary and checked on wiki. depends on what your friend remembered the ending to be.

Funny, many people remember the film's ending differently. I think it's all part of the deeply personal approach to storytelling.
