Martin Donovan's commentary over the film is so heartfelt that sometimes I thought he was talking directly to me. David Koepp has some funny stories to tell. Both features are worth the price of the DVD. The film also, still great.
Hi, guys. Just wondering, is ther anywhere I can find the subtitle of this movie. Years ago I have watched a VHS copy, and found in some parts the dialogue hard to follow. Still a bit confused with the plot.
I am in China so it is not easy for me to find a DVD here.
My advise is just let it be. Don't try to "understand" and you'll understand.
I saw it again last night (my fith time) I heard Martin Donovan's commentary for the first time and I must confess that it made me laugh and it moved me very deeply. That's a man who loves what he does.
I've seen the film six times now and my second time listening to Martin Donovan's commentary. Wow, every actor should listen to this man talk about his actors.
I'm not an actress but I would love to work with him too, at least to meet him in person. - I saw him and heard him at a lecture, I wrote to him and he wrote me back but I have never spoken to him directly.
That commentary in the DVD of "Apartment Zero" is the most revealing of the artist and the man.
What a great feeling to hear someone who really loves what he does without ever becoming too serious. Martin Donovan's humor is contagious. Yes, thank you!
One of the things I love about Donovan's commentary is his willingness to admit using relatives in the film.
His aunt plays the funny Spanish-speaking woman who is one of the candidates for the room that eventually goes to Jack. And his sister is Carlos Sanchez' uninterested date in the Tango Bar.
"I've got six black Cordelias. Isn't that lovely?"
