I keep thinking it would be great if Alien Nation was resurrected in a 21 century style, maybe that they aliens came on the first day of the new Millennium. Maybe have Paul Walker play Matthew Sykes and have either Brandon Routh play George Francisco or Orlando Bloom. I like to use unfamilar faces, a method that George Lucus and Steven Spielberg used and I like their choices of actors. Anyways what do you guys think?
Sorry but your ideas for casting are rubbish. Paul Walker awful. Brandon Routh definately not George. And "pretty boy" Orlando Bloom would be terrible as well.
just check out district 9. pretty much the same thing only with less human looking aliens. looks like it could be a much better film as well as it seems to be more focused on the effects the aliens are having on a particular society rather than just cutting and pasting the aliens in the place of blacks or mexicans or whatever.
I agree with you, information_police, that a remake of Alien Nation would be something like District 9. In fact, though I haven't yet seen D9, when I read the reviews, I couldn't help recalling Alien Nation. But remaking a superior older SF movie is rarely a good idea, as the remakers tend to dumb down the story while enhancing special effects. From what I read about D9, they've used special effects to enhance a superior story. I hope so!

I'd say that Alien Nation, while entertaining, was a pretty unrealistic vision of space aliens more or less fitting into our society as just another ethnic group. D9 is a much harsher vision but something which is totally in line with the reality of how mankind treats those they feel are inferior to them.
Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.
Not a replay and certainly not a reboot, maybe just a pick up a couple of monthes later after the wedding. That or maybe just the telling of how the aliens came to live here maybe create an alien character who befriends a human and the whole deal of the aliens being apart of Earth's race.
You want Paul Walker and Orlando Bloom, but you say you want unfamiliar faces? Is there anyone in the world who hasn't seen The Fast And The Furious or Pirates Of The Caribbean?
I would prefer them to continue the Alien Nation TV movies as the series was much better than the film anyway. Unfortunately that won't be happening according to Kenny Johnson (even though there was a script written for a 6th Alien Nation film).
i would have to say this movie is nothing like district 9
SPOLIERS!!!
district 9 basically showed the humans keeping the aliens in a slum and giving them no rights. alien nation they were treated as equals, district 9 was the story of one man and his struggle with escaping the authoritys who wanted to use him for science and research while battling turning into an alien. alien nation was about 2 detectives one being an alien trying to solve a crime and prevent the 'drug' from getting out
