For first time since it first aired. 18 year old me loved this movie. 45 year old me wonders why the police force didn't arm themselves w super soakers full of sea water to deal w the slags
shareI just re-watched this. My answer: For the same reason the Signs aliens invaded a planet 71% of which is covered in a substance lethal to them.
It's a decent movie, though the characters and plot points are all extremely cliche.
