Supposed to take place in Maryland?

This movie was supposed to take place in Maryland? It looked like the Midwest. The East Coast has better, more distinctive architecture. The architecture in this movie is bland and indistinct like Iowa or someplace like that.

It was filmed in and around Savannah, Ga. I was an extra when I was in high school. It was the first movie to come to town in over a decade. Now movies are filmed there every month.
