Pre-ordered my copy the min amazon had it listed, even though empire had it the week before, but i sure as hell aint faxing my CC details to them :)
Can't wait to see this old jem again, fingers crossed Season 2 follows...soon..although no where near as good as the first, i'd still like to get it..
Highlander.
I've just preordered season 1. I'm afraid I'll have to give season 2 a miss though. I still feel a kick in the gut when I think of what they did to it.

I have been waiting for this moment for 16 years... you see, somewhere around 16 years ago... the last episode of season 1 was airing one fateful night in the 80's.. I was all hunkered down to watch this monumental moment in my young life..when my parents informed me that we were going to go to a fancy, dress up dinner at a steakhouse....
I never got to see what happened to everyone else because the next season was minus characters and plotline,
Anyway, long story short: WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO
Covenant
...and I just finished archiving the episodes I have to DVD-Rs. These were recorded on a poor cable TV service in a college dorm so I'm estatic about seeing an official DVD release.
The series was great, and I did enjoy both seasons. I think I prefer the opening titles for the second season. The speech during the first season seems a bit cheesy by today's standards. (OK, perhaps back then too, but to a lesser degree.) It's mainly the last bit about taking over bodies, or perhaps how it's said. Minor point. Still a great series.
"In 1953, Earth experienced a war of the worlds. Common bacteria stopped the aliens, but it didn't kill them. Instead the aliens lapsed into a state of deep hiberation. Now the aliens have been resurrected, more terrifying than before. In 1953, aliens started taking over the world. Today, they're taking over our bodies."
Ann Robinson appeared in the original movie, this TV series (same character), and the new Speilberg movie. DVD Empire lists Jill Hennessy as a star, but she was a guest star in two episodes - one each season.
Perhaps if I start archiving my other favorites, DVD releases will follow. However, I admit my other favorites that aren't on DVD yet aren't exactly classics.
I hope I can find this DVD in retail stores but again most stores won't carry them except probably Suncoast. They have a great selection of film not found in the major retailers(i.e. target and walmart, but Walmart has a greater selection of movies than Target does.)

Actually, my local Wal-Mart had them in stock last night, where I picked up the 1953 film. There isn't some black ball against carrying this series, you know. I have seen other not too popular series made widely available as well.
shareMore info: To be released 11/1, $27.99 and free shipping. Amazon is usually pretty good about shipping it the day it is released or before.
