Scary?
Is this show scay or violent?

It could be bloody and when I was younger I found certain elements scary. It has been years though so I can't say for sure if it's scary.

In terms of violence, the first season had it down. In almost every episode, you had aliens either mutilating poor schleps or dying in a gross process of their human host melting (disturbing, but not so much disgusting as it sounds).
It was scary in certain places, as the show was filled with paranoia, chilling images (the dead look on the possessees), and jumps (the arm bursting from the chest).

I vote for violent and gory. "To Heal The Leper" opens with a bunch of bodies in a morgue with their heads torn open and the brains missing - including the morgue employees. "Thy Kingdom Come" has an alien tearing off an arm during a hockey game. Most of the killings by the aliens were somewhat bloody throughout the first season. I didn't see much of the second season, but it seemed they toned down the blood some. Second season did have some good stories - "Synthetic Love" being a favorite because of the ending. (Can't explain without doing a spoiler.) To me, that was pure evil without showing much blood.
Channel 21 in Dallas sometimes had warnings before a few episodes and even censored some ads for "Second Seal." It had more to do with how the aliens died - a melted mess on the ground.
Unto Us A Child Is Born has to be the most violent episode in the first season. I mean, we see the poor father getting his eyes gouged out followed by his lower jaw being pretty much torn off, the poor nurse who got her leg ripped off with a little blood squirting, the half-human half-alien mutant baby chewing the poor soldier's face off, the creepy music preceeding the horrible deaths, etc.

I liked this show a lot when it first showed and so I bought the DVD's. But I don't think it is that scary anymore. I think it's that 80's techno soundtrack and shoulder pads that does it. The series is still fun, though.
