Were there any gory tv shows before Friday the 13th: The Series and War of the Worlds? I know Freddy's Nightmares was on at the same time and remember it being gory and there were some gory episodes of Monsters and the Conspiracy episode of TNG. The "Unto Us a Child is Born" episode of the WOTW was as gory as many horror movies from that era.
shareWar Of The Worldsw was pretty gory with the Aliens going out of their way to mutilate human victums.I mean at times they could really be nasty in how they killed humans like ripping arms and other body parts off people and even poking eyes out.
There was also a late night vampire TV series called Forever Knight which tho wasn't as gory as WOW but had some adult violent scenes which would not be shown duing the day without some edits being made.If you have not seen Forever Knight you should check it out.
Thanks, I remember watching Forever Knight but that's all I remember about it. There's a ton of sci-fi/horror/action shows from the 80's & 90's I want to revisit.
shareThere was also a show in the late 90s called First Wave which had at times adult and gory scenes.Like WOTW it was about aliens in human bodies trying to wipe out humanity and one man Cade Foster who discovered their existance after they had framed him for murdering his wife trying to stop them.I think it originaly aired on the Sci Fi channel.If you haven't seen it you might like it.
This show used to scare me as a kid. And it came on after I went to bed lol. I remember listening to it, sometimes going downstairs for a drink to sneak a 30 second peak. My older sister would tell me about the episode the next day. I think it came on Thursday night's.
