i read it. he comes across as a really great man. i wish he were involved in the new movie because then i'm sure they would have gotten it right. this routh looks more like superboy than superman. which is okay if they were casting superboy :) anyway looks like we have lots of great superman stuff coming out soon!

The Salkinds behaved like criminals during the production of the first two films. It's a wonder the movies turned out as good as they did, at least the first one. Had they not fired Donner during Part II, the film would have been far better, than just good.

They behaved like "criminals?" You better clarify that comment.

Maybe they should have fired Donner from "16 Blocks." Then, maybe somebody would have went to see it.

Just guessing here, but I think they orginally had to concentrate on the character of Superman, to tell his story, because it was his movie. Then, they had a huge hit, so they stuck with that formula. Remember, the Superhero film was completely untested back then and no one aside from Ilya Salkind thought it would work. Superman II was a natural continuation of the Original, so Batman or somebody else couldn't come in then. So, maybe Superman III could have brought in Batman, but I think that brings in more issues than it's worth. Superman by himself was so successful, why and/or when do you mess with that successful formula? Obviously, Superman 4 could have used somebody else, but the Salkinds had NOTHING to do with that.

But, I can totally see Wonderwoman dropping in. Margot Kidders' (sorry, Margot if I mis-spelled) jealous reaction would have been classic.
