So far I have watched the first 18 episodes of Season 1. It's almost impossible to sit through them, as they are so terrible ! There is only one episode that is decent, the one where Clark goes back to Smallville to help Ma and Pa Kent save their farm.

However, there are some which are so AWFUL, that you have to wonder why this show wasn't cancelled immediately-- For example, the one where Lana is trapped in the junkyard, the one where the purple alien force takes over Lana's body (and the sequel where it returns, and takes over Pa Kent), the one when T.J. is drugged in the comedy club, the Mr. Mxyztplk episode, and the one with the American Indian woman in the swamp, are among the really bad episodes !

And I say this as a big Superman fan.

Well, Season 1 is widely regarded as the show's worst season. It was teetering on the edge of cancellation, until different actors for Superboy/Clark Kent and Lex Luthor were brought in for the subsequent seasons.

it was not any worse than angel or buffy or xena or charmed or any other american sci fi fantasy tv show! ive seen alot worse tv shows than superboy!

we all go a little mad sometimes....

The one towards the end of Season 1 where Pa Kent is attacked by the Korean War vet wasn't that bad. It was better than most.
