Bonnie and Edgar
They weren't really all that bad - but they were dense to not realize that Dan and Roseanne were making fun of them!
Also, can someone please explain the Mikahela Ho joke?

I always thought it was kind of funny (and a little strange) that Dan was clearly making fun of them right in front of Chip! When he was doing that hula dance with the potholders. He must have seen it.
shareDespite the immediate awkwardness I liked that Bonnie and Edgar tried to make conversation. Roseanne and Dan were clumsier about it.
shareriiiight.. Kehoe, Paymer and Lydecker

Yeah, Bonnie and Edgar seemed like an odd but admirable combination: affluent, but perfectly nice and friendly—I mean, they could have turned their noses up at the Conners and Becky, whom their son was dating! But they didn't. Still, I could see why Dan and Roseanne might've thought they were "square" of course.
shareAloHA, ALOha, AlOhA!! They were a nice couple but just too straightlaced and square for Dan and Roseanne.
The episode shows off a bit of the Connor attitude. They liked to make fun of anyone who was different.
The Mikahela Ho joke? I think it was just the funny way it sounded. Haven't seen this episode in a while, but I believe they said their tour guide was named Michael Ho. But his Hawaiian name was Mikahela. I think Dan found the sound of 'Mikahela Ho' amusing.
There was a famous Hawaiian singer named Don Ho. Maybe that's what Dan was thinking of.
