Age Discrepency with Dan's Band

I just watched the episode with Stingray (John Popper of Blues Traveler) coming back into town, stirring up old feelings for Dan who left the band. What irks me is that John Popper is clearly much younger than Dan, Roseanne and Jackie. In real life, he's 16 years younger than John Goodman. I get that it was probably just a case of needing big talent to showcase Dan's/John Goodman's musical talent (and getting a blues artist was key) but they couldn't find someone closer to Dan's age to make it more realistic?

I know this is nit picking and not anywhere near some of the more outrageous things in the later seasons. But I wonder if anyone else noticed it, too.

Honestly, I think you're nitpicking... I didn't even notice, and I'm not just being lenient. You're right; they just wanted a name star to play Dan's former bandmate, plus Blues Traveller ended up singing the theme song in Season 9.

Bright Side, it turned into a double audition for BB2K.
John landed the co-starring role of Mack McTeer, while Popper/BT played themselves.

I had completely forgotten that they worked together on Blues Brothers 2000!

What I found irritating was that it was yet ANOTHER episode where Dan is troubled about the fact that he is older. Just shut up already! The bar fight in season 1, the return of Iggy in season 3 and the John Popper band episode. I know there are more, but I can't think of them right now. Dan just became a whiny hen pecked husband that couldn't even change his diet after he had a heart attack.

Oh, it totally bothered me.

Blues Traveler certainly was huge (no pun intended) for a time. They even appeared on The Real World London. I never saw the appeal, to be honest, although there was no denying the talents of John Popper and the band as a whole.
