If Nana Mary had moved in -

Where would they have put her? In the basement? Or was that still full of Dan's 2X4's?

A typical Hollywood solution would have been to either magically add a room that had never existed before, or to remodel the attic into an unrealistically sized living space (compared to the outside shots of the house.)

try recreating it in Sims! There is NO way that house can exist with that floorplan!
I had to go by the floorplans that had popped up here over the years and even after we were able to do 1x2 rooms, or even just 1x wide rooms, I had some spatial juggling to pull off.

Perfect answer

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop & look around once in awhile you could miss it - Ferris

Right, the bigger question is: Why would Roseanne (and Dan) even entertain the idea? They were barely getting by, come on. But then again: eventually David (and Mark) moved in, lol... but the show was in a different place later on, as well as the Conners (Roseanne finding sudden success/stability with The Lunchbox).

A Bev and Nana Mary spin-off might have been good, where Nana Mary moves into Bev's complex.

Add two friends and you've got The Golden Girls.

Kramer: ...he was very impressed with what I do.
Elaine: What you do? You don't do anything!

well, they had that one ep with Bev, Leon, Scott, and Bev's gf in s9.
I never really thought about it being a GG parody, but it does make some sense.

Gurlz4Gurlz or whatever they were going to call their little act.

They could've done what happened when my grandparents moved in. They got my room, I got the couch. DJ was small enough to fit on the couch.
