Jackie+Men

Now, Jackie was definitely not an ugly woman. I've watched the entire series a good two times over.
What I can't seem to understand is what exactly all these men found SO irresistible about Jackie?
Sure, she wasn't ugly, but I always thought her face looked a bit haggard for someone her age.
Sure she was thin and "in shape" looking, but she didn't have any stand-out "features" either.
And her personality DEFINITELY left something to be desired. She was a good person yes, but again, just blah.
Not really understanding the draw? Anyone have a similiar opinion?

Are you implying that only super attractive people date a lot or sleep around? Haha, trust me, that is definitely not the case. It is often the opposite in fact. And I didn't see anything wrong with her personality, so you might want to elaborate there. If you look hard enough, EVERYONE's personality "leaves something to be desired." Lol.

But I don't think men necessarily found Jackie to be "irresistible." She was just flighty and dated around a lot.

I don't think Jackie was ever portrayed as "irresistable", c'mon.

Her track record being high had nothing to do with that. You don't know all the types of men she hooked up with. There's no telling how "hot" or on her level they were.

Also, she was good-looking enough to date fitfully. She was thin, had a nice personality (though flawed—like EVERYONE), and yes, was sexual. That's enough for a woman in her situation to get attention.

Jackie wasn't a super model, but neither are most people who have a lot of partners throughout their lifetimes, and especially in a town like Lanford.

Jackie especially early on when she was still dating a lot of people was really confident and funny and easy-going, I could see how guys would be into her. And I never got the impression anyone thought she was physically some standout prize of ultimate womanhood or anything. She was good-looking and had a fun personality and clearly from her track record wasn't SUPER picky about who she slept with.

Also she only dated a handful of guys on the show, the only real wtf one I think is the Prince from season 9, and we can easily attribute that to just being season 9.

Oh boy. Let's not run with it lol. Wasn't implying she was ugly, or needed to be a supermodel to sleep around. As I clearly stated, I just didn't see why all these guys were so GAGA over her. I wasn't just talking about sex. I meant how over-heels the guys all were. Her personality was kind of null. And to the other poster, I'm sure you're right. For Landford she probably WAS a supermodel level of attractive.

What guys were ever gaga over her though? Booker wasn't - he clearly didn't want anything serious with her. Gary was in love with her, but he never gushed (and even if he didn't he wasn't a prize himself). Booker was a total jerk to her, come to find out. The only one who chased her was Fred, and I personally found her to be more attractive than him.

Jackie was attractive but I agree not beautiful.

To be honest, she made her neediness obvious. Men, often but not always of course, tend to go for women that seem like 'they won't be much work'.
Jackie gave the impression (and what we find out, it wasn't really incorrect) that she'd be an easy lay & subservient.

The trouble is, along with neediness can come instability. And in Jackie's case, this was true.
She wanted the man to make excitement for her, hence why she disliked Fred ultimately.
Booker & Gary kept the drama going, while Fred was stable and dependable.
While he was a bit dull I admit, he was much too good for Jackie.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

if the women Roseanne hung out with were any indication of what Lanford had to offer, I can see why men might gravitate towards Jackie.. not that appealing, but you take what you can get.
